For this music video analysis I have chose to pick Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars because they're under the alternative genre and are much more relavant to the band and song we have picked to use. Another reason for this is due to the slow pace and meaning behind the song. Once watching the video I learned that it is similar to the ideas we have put foward for our own music video. The video is very simple (just like ours) making it seem like they're trying to get the lyrics across more rather than the video. The first shot shows him walking down a street alone while singing, this relates to our music video in which the person in ours will be walking along the beach singing.
One aspect of Goodwin's music video theory became relevant where visuals linked in with the lyrics, those lyrics being 'If I lay here, if I just lay here, would you lie with me annd just forget the world?' this is where he is laying on a kitchen floor at 0:37 seconds into the song.
Some good ideas and links to Goodwin's Theory. I think that to improve you should be more specific about how you intend to use what you have learned in your own production.
