I think this artwork is creative but the plain background emphasises that it doesn't need to stand out whereas a more popular artist or band may have a particular image or bolder colours to catch the audience through their artwork, it's the kind of cover that could either attract the audience through the main picture or not at all because of the plain background colour
This album cover has a dark blue background, this is a bold colour that makes up the majority of the album cover; making it stand out. They also do this with their Parachutes album, which just ahs a plain white title at the top, a black background and an orange circle - in the shape of a planet in the middle.
I really like Mumford and Sons album cover, I think it is quite 'indie' and shows a quirky side to it that could attract ............................
